Internal Quality Assurance (IQA)

Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Award and Certificate

There are several qualification routes available to you depending on your role.

1. Pearson Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices

This is a one-unit, knowledge-only Award suitable for those who just want to know about Internal Quality Assurance, but who do not actually do it, for example centre managers or experienced assessors who are looking to develop their role and their understanding.

This is an ideal unit for those wishing to up-skill their existing IQA qualifications as part of their CPD to enable them to understand the differences between IQA processes and practice and the previous IV role.

2. Pearson Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

This is a two-unit Award suitable for those who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre or an organisation by sampling, monitoring and advising on the practice of assessors.

3. Pearson Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

This is a three-unit Certificate suitable for those who lead the internal quality assurance process and have responsibility for managing the quality of the assessment process and practice and the performance of assessors. They may also develop systems and lead on visits from outside agencies such as awarding organisations.

Those qualified to D34 or V1 can up-skill to the Certificate which now includes the lead IQA role and will help to establish the differences between those who practice within an IQA team and those that lead the process.
