The level 3 Award in Education and Training is a first-step qualification for those who have just begun, about to begin or are thinking of starting a career in teaching. It could also be useful to assessors or trainers who wish to achieve a qualification and act as an introduction into teaching.
The level 3 Award is designed to develop your skills in teaching and learning, covering both theory and practical application. You will be observed undertaking at least 15 minutes of teaching in a supportive classroom environment or as part of your role if you are already teaching or training.
There is one mandatory unit, ‘Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training’ followed by two groups of units, where you choose the most appropriate units to fit in with your own requirements. Your tutor/assessor from Enable Assessment will guide you when making the decision on which of these optional units would be most beneficial and which will be based on your teaching situation, potential situation, or desired situation.
Depending on your teaching or training role, there are progression opportunities following on from the level 3 Award, to the level 4 Certificate or the level 5 Diploma both in Education and Training.
